Objective: To study the protective effect of ginseng coenzyme Q10 sunscreen on UV-injured mice.
Methods: Thirty-six mice were randomly divided into groups, and the corresponding creams were applied to the skin after depilation. The normal control group did not receive any treatment, and the other groups were irradiated with ultraviolet rays. After 8 consecutive weeks, the mice were sacrificed with blood from the eyeballs for index detection.
Results: Compared with the normal group, the skin of the model group was rough and wrinkled, and the stratum corneum fell off, the activities of T-SOD and GSH-Px were significantly decreased, and the number of white blood cells and MDA content were significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with other groups, the ginseng coenzyme Q10 sunscreen group mice had smooth skin, the stratum corneum did not fall off, the T-SOD activity, the content of red blood cells and hemoglobin increased, the number of white blood cells and the content of MDA significantly decreased (P<0.05). The stratum corneum was smooth, the stratum corneum did not fall off, the activity of GSH-Px increased, the number of white blood cells and the content of MDA decreased (P<0.05).
Conclusion: Ginseng coenzyme Q10 sunscreen has the effect of anti-ultraviolet damage, and its preventive effect is equivalent to that of octyl methoxycinnamate coenzyme Q10 cream.
