Objective: To measure and compare the blood indexes, heart rate, common carotid arterial pressure, ventricular pressure and organ parameters of female and male common-grade FMMU albino guinea pigs.
METHODS: Thirty albino guinea pigs with 250-350 g normal grade FMMU were taken, half male and half female. After one week of feeding, blood was collected from the heart to measure the physiological, biochemical and blood gas indexes; the common carotid artery was intubated to measure the arterial pressure, and the ventricle was opened under the condition of respiratory support. Pressure measurement; dissection and accurate weighing of each organ.
Results: Male and female guinea pigs were compared: among the blood indexes, there were significant differences in platelet count, alanine aminotransferase, total bilirubin, and lactate (P<0.05 or P<0.01); common carotid artery diastolic pressure, mean pressure and There were significant differences in left ventricular systolic blood pressure and mean blood pressure (P<0.05 or P<0.01); there was no significant difference in the weights and organ coefficients of the main organs.
Conclusion: There are differences in blood physiology and biochemistry, blood gas and cardiovascular function indexes in common-grade male and female FMMU albino guinea pigs.
