OBJECTIVE: To investigate the difference in pressure tolerance of goat sinus (maxillary sinus and frontal sinus) mucosa and analyze the reasons for the difference, so as to provide theoretical basis and guidance for mucosal problems during maxillary sinus floor lift.
METHODS: Mucosa of required size were cut from each piece of sinus mucosa (maxillary sinus roof, maxillary sinus floor and frontal sinus mucosa) obtained, and the pressure-bearing value was measured by push-pull force meter, self-made jig and pressing tool, and paired t test was used. To determine the relationship between the parameters, P<0.05 was considered to be statistically significant.
RESULTS: The maximum pressure of goat maxillary sinus top mucosa was 260.08±80.12 Kpa, the sinus floor mucosa was 306.90±94.37 Kpa, and the frontal sinus mucosa was 121.72±31.72 Kpa. There were statistically significant differences between the maxillary sinus roof and the frontal sinus, the maxillary sinus floor and the frontal sinus, and the sinus roof and the sinus floor mucosal mean pressure (P<0.05). The maxillary sinus top mucosa can withstand more pressure than the frontal sinus, the maxillary sinus floor mucosa can withstand more pressure than the frontal sinus, and the maxillary sinus bottom mucosa can withstand more pressure than the sinus top mucosa.
Conclusion: There are differences in the pressure tolerance of frontal sinus, maxillary sinus roof and maxillary sinus floor mucosa, and they increase in turn.
