【Animal Modeling】-Yuemai Jia Banxia Decoction reduces serum IgE and increases SOD activity in lung tissue of allergic asthma mice

Objective: To explore the effect of Yuemai Jia Banxia Decoction on allergic asthma mice by observing the changes in serum immunoglobulin (IgE) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and inhibition rate in lung tissue of mice in different stages. mechanism of action.

Methods: Healthy Kunming mice were randomly divided into normal control group, asthma model group, dexamethasone intervention group and traditional Chinese medicine preparation group. A mouse model of asthma was established by intraperitoneal injection of ovalbumin (OVA) and aluminum hydroxide gel suspension for sensitization and atomization. . The dexamethasone group was given intraperitoneal injection of dexamethasone 1 mg/kg. The mice in the normal control group and the asthma model group were administered with normal saline by gavage. After 30 days of administration, the mice were sacrificed, the serum IgE level and the SOD activity of the lung tissue of the mice in each group were detected, and the pathological changes of the lung tissue were observed by HE staining.

Results: Compared with the mice in the asthma model group, the content of IgE in the peripheral serum of the mice in the traditional Chinese medicine preparation group decreased (P<0.05), and the difference in IgE between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). The SOD activity and inhibition rate increased, and the SOD activity and inhibition rate were significantly different between the two groups (P<0.05).

Conclusion: Reducing the IgE content in the serum of allergic asthma mice, increasing the SOD activity and inhibition rate in the lung tissue of the mice, and improving the antioxidant capacity of the lung tissue may be one of the mechanisms of Yue Mai Jia Banxia Decoction in the treatment of allergic asthma.
