【Animal modeling】-Establishment of a porcine cornea test for acute eye irritation of a disinfectant

  Objective To establish an in vitro method for the detection of acute eye irritation of disinfected products using porcine cornea.

  Methods Two positive substances, ethanol and imidazole, were used as quality control standards, and the in vitro test conditions were explored on the porcine corneal system.

  Results According to the verification of liquid and solid disinfectants, under the conditions of ethanol exposure for 10 min, incubation for 80 min and imidazole exposure for 3 h and incubation for 70 min, the porcine cornea in vitro stimulation score was significantly improved in bovine corneal opacity and permeability (bovine corneal opacity). and permeability, BCOP) test corresponding positive substance standard range, the test system is established.

  Conclusion A kind of acute eye irritation test method for disinfectants was initially established by using pig's eye instead of bull's eye, which can provide reference for the safety detection of disinfection products.
