【Animal Modeling】-Comparison of the genetic structure of two experimental mouse populations using microsatellite technology

  Objective To compare the genetic structure of two experimental mouse populations using microsatellite markers.

  Methods 36 microsatellite markers were used to analyze the genetic structure of two experimental mouse populations. Thirty-eight genomic DNAs were extracted from each of the two populations, PCR amplification and gene sequencing were performed. The statistical analysis software PopGen1.32 and Littleprogram0.6 were used to calculate the genetic structure parameters of the two populations.

  Results The average number of alleles in group A was 2.4839, the average heterozygosity was 0.3376, and the average polymorphism information content was 0.2875. The average number of alleles in group B was 3.4839, the average heterozygosity was 0.4806, and the average polymorphism information content was 0.4088.

  Conclusion There are differences in the genetic structure of the two experimental mouse populations, and long-term closed breeding leads to changes in the genetic structure of the population. It is recommended to monitor the genetic structure of the closed-group experimental animal population on a regular basis to ensure the genetic quality of the experimental animals.
