Objective To establish a simple and feasible method for extracting mouse cerebrospinal fluid with low cost of materials and high survival rate and success rate, and to provide reference for the related research of mouse cerebrospinal fluid.
Methods Self-made micropipettes. Fix the mouse head at an angle of about 120° to the body, bluntly separate the mouse subcutaneous tissue and muscle with forceps, find the mouse white dura, enter the tube to reach the cerebellomedullary cisterna, slowly extract the mouse cerebrospinal fluid and put it in the cerebellum. The tube was withdrawn and the mouse wound was finally sutured.
Result 2-5 μL of mouse cerebrospinal fluid was successfully obtained, and the mice survived.
Discussion At present, most of the literatures describe the method of extracting cerebrospinal fluid in rats or the more complicated method of extracting cerebrospinal fluid in mice. This method for extracting cerebrospinal fluid in mice is not only simple and easy to implement, but also requires low equipment and a high success rate. The survival rate is high and can be extracted repeatedly.
