Objective The purpose of this study was to collect blood indexes of young SD rats at different developmental stages, establish corresponding background data, and provide reference for the evaluation of pediatric drug safety.
Methods Blood samples from more than 200 young SD rats at 3, 6, 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age were collected, and the corresponding indicators were determined by automatic blood cell counter and biochemical analyzer.
Results From the results of each index parameter, the blood indexes of the 6-week-old rats were different from those of the 16-week-old rats, such as RBC, HGB, TP, and BUN. The blood indexes of the 12-week-old rats were different from Compared with 16-week-old rats, there was no difference in most indicators such as WBC, HGB, and BUN.
Conclusion The results show that the blood indexes of young SD rats at different ages have a certain time correlation. The establishment of background data in different periods has certain guiding significance for the statistical analysis and discussion of blood indexes in young rats.
