【Animal Modeling】-Determination and Analysis of Hematology and Serum Biochemical Indexes in African Green Monkeys

Objective: To detect the hematology and serum biochemical indexes of 50 healthy African green monkeys, and to analyze the hematology and serum biochemistry of African green monkeys of different genders and age groups (young group: 1-3 years old, adult group: 4-6 years old). differences in indicators.

Methods: Automatic blood cell analyzer and blood biochemical analyzer were used to determine the hematological and serum biochemical indexes of healthy African green monkeys in awake state, respectively.

Results: There were significant differences in hematological indexes between young and juvenile group and adult group: red blood cell count (RBC), hemoglobin (HGB), hematocrit (HCT), neutrophil percentage (NEUT%), lymphocyte percentage (LYMPH) %), percentage of monocytes (MONO%), percentage of basophils (BASO%) (P<0.05). The indicators with significant differences between female monkeys and male monkeys in the juvenile group were white blood cell count (WBC), RBC, HGB, HCT, NEUT%, LYMPH%, MONO% (P<0.05). The most important index was HCT (P<0.05), and other indexes were not significantly different. Serum biochemical indexes showed significant differences between the young and juvenile group and the adult group: albumin (ALB), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), creatinine (CREA) (P<0.05), The indicators with significant differences between female monkeys and male monkeys in the young and juvenile groups were CREA (P<0.05), and the indicators with significant differences between female monkeys and male monkeys in the adult group were total protein (TP), cholesterol (CHOL) (P<0.05), and other indicators The difference was not significant.

Conclusion: This paper preliminarily establishes the routine biological data of African green monkeys, which provides a certain data basis for evaluating its biological characteristics and related applications, which can be used for reference.
