Objective: To study and analyze the reproductive physiology, blood physiology and biochemical characteristics of SPF large white and landrace pigs.
Methods: 10 reproductive physiological indicators, 19 blood physiological indicators and 18 blood biochemical indicators in SPF large white and landrace pig populations were determined by conventional methods, and the differences of each indicator among different groups, different ages and different genders were statistically analyzed.
Results: There were no significant differences in reproductive physiology indexes and most of blood physiology and biochemical indexes between SPF large white pigs and Landrace pigs (P > 0.05). There were significant differences in TBIL and BUN among breeds, different ages and different genders (P < 0.05), but their deviations from the normal value range were small.
Conclusion: SPF large white pigs and landrace pigs are basically stable in reproductive physiology, blood physiology and biochemistry, and have little difference compared with other experimental miniature pigs. This study is based on standardized feeding, construction of animal models and genetic quality of closed herd pigs The evaluation provides important basic data.
