Objective: To explore the effect of PM2.5 on the physiology and related biochemical stress effects of rat uterine tissue.
Methods: Thirty SD female mice were randomly divided into 3 different PM2.5 exposure groups (normal saline control group, 1.5 mg/kg PM2.5 low-dose group and 37.5 mg/kg PM2.5 high-dose group). After exposure to PM2.5 for 10 days, the female mice were sacrificed, and the pathological changes of uterine tissue were observed by HE staining, and the contents of SOD, GSH, MDA and LDH in the uterine tissue were detected.
RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the uterine structure of female mice in PM2.5 exposure group was abnormal, the endometrial epithelial cells were thinned and arranged in disorder; the lamina propria stromal cells and blood vessels were reduced. The detection results of oxidative stress indicators showed that the contents of MDA and LDH in the high-dose group were (6.53±1.24) nmol/mg prot and (265.62±24.65) U/g prot, which were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The contents of SOD and GSH in the group and the low-dose group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).
Conclusion: PM2.5 can damage the morphology of rat uterus and induce uterine-related oxidative stress.
