Objective: To study whether acupuncture combined with Danhong injection has protective effect on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats.
METHODS: The middle cerebral artery cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury model was established by the middle cerebral artery occlusion method (MCAO). After 2 hours of ischemia, the thread was pulled out to achieve reperfusion, and intravenous injection was performed immediately after reperfusion. Danhong injection 2 mL/kg, and acupuncture at Baihui and Zusanli, once a day, for 3 consecutive days, and after 72 hours, the Zea-Longa 5-level 4-point scoring method was used to evaluate the neurological function, and the TTC staining method was used to determine the neurological function. The area of cerebral infarction was measured, and the protein expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax in the ischemic lateral cerebral cortex were detected by Western blot.
RESULTS: Compared with the model and the Danhong injection group alone, the neurological deficit scores of the rats treated with acupuncture combined with Danhong injection were significantly reduced, the area of cerebral infarction was reduced, the protein expression of Bcl-2 was increased, and the protein expression of Bax was decreased.
Conclusion: Acupuncture combined with Danhong injection has a more obvious protective effect on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats than Danhong injection alone.
