Objective: To observe the protective effect of Danggui Buxue Decoction on mice irradiated by 60C0-γ ray.
Methods: The experimental mice were randomly divided into 5 groups (normal control group, model group, Danggui Buxue decoction low-dose, medium-dose and high-dose groups). The radiation injury model was used to determine the number of peripheral blood neutrophils (NEUT), bone marrow nucleated cells (BMC), serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and serum malondialdehyde (MDA) content of mice in each group.
RESULTS: The activities of NEUT, BMC and SOD in radiation-injured mice were significantly decreased (P<0.01), and the content of MDA was increased (P<0.01). Danggui Buxue decoction can increase the activities of NEUT, BMC and SOD, and reduce the content of MDA in mice after radiation injury, and the high-dose Danggui Buxue decoction group has better protective effect on radiation-injured mice (P<0.01).
Conclusion: Danggui Buxue decoction has protective effect on ionizing injury in irradiated mice, and it is related to dose.
