Objective: To investigate the effect of natural mountain spring water on lipid peroxidation in aged mice.
METHODS: Eight-month-old SPF male ICR mice were adaptively reared for 5 days, then fasted for 16 hours, and blood was collected to measure serum malondialdehyde (MDA) content. According to MDA content, ICR mice were randomly divided into two groups: natural mountain spring water group and tap water control group. The natural mountain spring water group drank the natural mountain spring water freely, and the tap water control group drank the tap water freely for two consecutive months, fasting for 16 hours when drinking for one month and two months, taking blood to measure the serum malondialdehyde (MDA) content and Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity.
Results: After being given natural mountain spring water for two months, compared with the tap water control group, the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) in the natural mountain spring water group was significantly decreased (P<0.05), and there was no significant difference in the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD). .
Conclusion: Drinking natural mountain spring water has a certain effect on alleviating lipid peroxidation in aged mice.
