Objective To screen and compare the establishment of a rat model of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), so as to provide a good animal model for the study of the mechanism of OHSS and the development of therapeutic drugs.
Methods 60 Wistar and SD rats aged 3-5 weeks were randomly divided into groups and injected with different doses of pregnant horse serum (PMSG) and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) to establish the OHSS model, and the gross pathological examination was performed. , organ index measurement, blood progesterone, estrogen and VEGF concentration measurement and other methods to comprehensively evaluate the established model.
Results The 3-week-old SD rats had obvious OHSS typical changes such as enlarged ovaries, increased vascular permeability, and elevated serum VEGF levels, which were more suitable for the establishment of OHSS rat models.
Conclusion A reliable modeling method was obtained by comparison and screening, which provided a good animal model for the follow-up research on the pathogenesis of OHSS and the development of therapeutic drugs.
