[Animal model]-Application of rodent tracheal intubation under direct vision guided by optical fiber

Objective: To establish a simple rodent intubation method, and use this method to establish various animal models that require tracheal intubation.

Method: Select 60 Kunming male mice anesthetized with midazolam and ketamine, use optical fiber to pass through the 22GA arterial puncture cannula, guide the trachea through the mouth, connect the ventilator and trachea to confirm insertion.

Result: 60 mice passing through the optical fiber were successfully inserted into the tracheal tube. Seven days after the autopsy, there were no complications such as bleeding from the mucous membrane of the throat, glottic edema and tracheal stenosis.

Conclusion: The success rate of mouse tracheal intubation under optical fiber visualization is high, and the incidence of related complications is low.
