【Animal Modeling】-Study on the Control and Optimization of the Animal Model of Oral Ulcer in Rats by Chemical Burning

OBJECTIVE: To establish an animal model of oral ulcer in SD rats by different chemical cautery methods, and to screen the optimal program for the evaluation of the therapeutic effect.

Methods: Fifty SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups. Ulcer models were established on the labial mucosa and buccal mucosa of the lower incisor alveolar bone with different concentrations of glacial acetic acid or NaOH crystals; secondary cauterization group: 50% concentration of glacial acetic acid was used in the The ulcer model was established at the original site after healing of the mucosal ulcer on the labial side of the alveolar bone. The mucosal state, ulcer occurrence rate, healing time and histopathological changes were observed.

RESULTS: The 50% concentration of glacial acetic acid group in the alveolar bone labial mucosa had a higher incidence of ulcers, the regular morphology was easy to observe, the average healing time and histological characteristics were similar to those of humans, and the comprehensive comparison was better than other groups. The secondary burning group was not easy to form ulcers .

Conclusion: The treatment of 50% concentration of glacial acetic acid on the labial mucosa of the alveolar bone can obtain a better model of oral ulcer, which can be used as an ideal model for the study of ulcer treatment methods. The same site is not suitable for establishing the ulcer model again.
