  Results Xishutongshuan Capsules can improve the decline of learning and cognitive function in rats after chronic cerebral ischemia, reduce the decrease of Nissl bodies and IgG leakage in hippocampal neurons, and reduce the levels of MMP-9, claudin-5 and occludin in plasma. , to increase the expression of claudin-5 and occludin in brain tissue.

  Conclusion Xishuntongshuan Capsules can reduce blood-brain barrier damage and improve learning and cognitive function after chronic cerebral ischemia.
