Objective To establish and optimize the model of diffuse cerebral thrombosis induced by arachidonic acid in rats.
Methods The rat model of diffuse cerebral thrombosis was established by injecting arachidonic acid through internal carotid artery; The sham operation group was set as the control. The modeling effect was evaluated by detecting the Evans blue (EB) exudation content in brain tissue and detecting the pathological damage degree of brain tissue with HE staining.
Results Diffuse EB exudation was found in the brain tissue of the injured side of the model group compared with the sham operation group (P. The pathological manifestations of brain tissue on the injured side were disordered cell arrangement, nuclear shrinkage, increased cell gap, increased vacuole cells, and red strip shaped ischemic pathological damage of individual microvessels.
Conclusion Arachidonic acid can successfully induce diffuse cerebral thrombosis model, and the model has good stability and low mortality after optimization.
