[Animal modeling] - An improved method to establish a rat model of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury

Objective: To evaluate the improved method of establishing myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury model in rats.

Methods: 45 SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: rapid operation group, conventional thoracotomy group and improved group, with 15 rats in each group. The rapid operation, conventional open chest modeling and improved methods were used to establish the model of myocardial ischemia reperfusion operation in rats. The rat hearts were collected and observed with TTC+Evans blue staining. The success rate of modeling, rat survival rate and myocardial injury were analyzed and compared.

Results: Compared with rapid modeling and open chest modeling group, the success rate and survival rate of the improved model were improved, and the thickness of myocardial infarction area was uniform.

Conclusion: The improved method of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury model is feasible and can be widely used.
