[Animal modeling] - Comparative study on the modeling of rheumatoid arthritis in C57BL/6 mice induced by collagen and antigen

Objective: To compare the difference between the success rate of modeling collagen induced arthritis and antigen induced arthritis in C57BL/6 mice

Methods: 42 mice were divided into two groups, one group was CIA, the other group was AIA. Three mice in each group were used as the normal group, and 18 mice were used as the model group. After the last modeling, the body weight, knee joint and ankle joint diameter of the mice were monitored regularly

Results: Under the background of C57BL/6, the success rate of CIA modeling was not high and the severity difference was large. The success rate of AIA modeling was high but the maintenance time was short

Conclusion: In order to study the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) more comprehensively, it may be more suitable to build CIA model on subsequent transgenic mice
