[Animal modeling] - Establishment of rat models of acute and chronic salpingitis infertility caused by Staphylococcus aureus

Objective: To establish acute and chronic salpingitis infertility models in rats by using Staphylococcus aureus

Method: Preparation 4 × 109/mL staphylococcus aureus suspension. 108 rats were randomly divided into normal group, model group and sham operation group, with 36 rats in each group. The model group was injected with staphylococcus aureus suspension through the fallopian tube, and the sham operation group was injected with normal saline through the fallopian tube; On the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th days after operation, the morphology of fallopian tubes was observed with naked eyes, and staphylococcus aureus culture and pathological examination were performed

Results: By injecting Staphylococcus aureus into the fallopian tube, an acute salpingitis model can be formed on the 7th day after operation, a chronic salpingitis model can be formed on the 21st day, and a salpingitis infertility model can be formed on the 28th day

Conclusion: The adopted concentration is 4 × 109/mL Staphylococcus aureus can be injected into the rat oviduct to successfully establish the rat model of acute salpingitis and chronic salpingitis infertility
