[Animal modeling] Study on therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with honeycomb on allergic rhinitis model rats

  Objective: To investigate the therapeutic effect and mechanism of acupuncture combined with honeycomb on AR rats.

  Methods: The allergic rhinitis (AR) rat model was prepared with ovalbumin. After 10 days of treatment with honeycombs and acupuncture, the rats were evaluated by behavioral observation, histamine, IgE, IFN in serum- γ、 The content of IL-4, the amount of nasal secretions, the number of eosinophils and mast cells in the nasal mucosa, and the thymus and spleen coefficients were used as the indicators of investigation. At the same time, the fluticasone propionate nasal spray was used as the positive control to comprehensively investigate the therapeutic effect of honeycomb combined with acupuncture on AR rats and its mechanism.

  Results: Compared with the model group, the behavioral scores of rats in the honeycomb combined with acupuncture treatment decreased; The contents of histamine, IgE, IL-4 in serum, nasal secretions, eosinophils and mast cells in nasal mucosa decreased significantly; IFN in serum- γ The content increases; The thymus coefficient increased and the spleen coefficient decreased significantly.

  Conclusion: Honeycomb combined with acupuncture has obvious therapeutic effect on AR model rats.
